The Educational Management Study Programme at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta originated from the need to produce experts in the field of education management, especially in the Islamic education environment. Along with the development of the education system in Indonesia, UIN Jakarta felt the need to develop a study programme that focuses on education management in order to produce graduates who are able to manage educational institutions properly, both at the madrasah, school and university levels.

In 2009, this programme was officially established through the Decree of the Director General of Islamic Education of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia with number DJ.II/114/2009. This establishment is part of UIN Jakarta's efforts to expand the scope of its knowledge and improve the quality of education by adjusting to the needs of the times, especially in terms of professional management of educational institutions and in accordance with Islamic principles.

With the establishment of this programme, UIN Jakarta opens opportunities for students to explore the science of education management and produce graduates who are ready to face challenges in the management of educational institutions, both in the formal and non-formal sectors. This programme continues to grow until now, by adjusting the curriculum and learning methods to be relevant to the dynamics of the world of education.
